The Lansdowne Letters: @#$%!

I am experiencing technical issues:
Still limited internet access, until Suddenlink sorts it out.
Photos crashing ~ too many and out of memory.
Can't back up ~ no room on external drives.
No new four terabyte external drive,
because Amazon screwed up guaranteed delivery while I was in Colorado,
and I'm still waiting on late delivery here in Arizona.
Been traveling, so little access to my library internet onramp.
Hopefully things will work themselves out in the next few days.
See you next week (or maybe sooner)!

Meanwhile I'm still on the hunt for wild burros ...

    1. Haha! I said "fluck" a few times, Pat! I think I'm going to take my computer into a repair shop tomorrow. It's beyond my ability! I hope all is well with you!

    1. LOL, Debra. I was in a row of burros on Friday, and one kicked me with both hind legs! Lesson learned. I'm fine ~ It wasn't a serious-hearted kick. Other burros rushed over, and one kicked me to the side so he could get his share of the food. They are really something to see! Have a good one!

    1. Hi, Alex. My drive did arrive, but I can't make it work, so I'm going to find a computer place to help me tomorrow. I realized Friday, in the middle of it all, that I had totally spaced out IWSG Day! That's how spun-around I was! I couldn't believe it. It would have been worse ~ I could have spaced out Christmas! Never a dull moment! I hope all is well with you!

    1. You do know about me and burros, don't you, Barb! We went to Oatman on Friday, and I saw lots of burros. Oatman is an old mining town on the western edge of the Black Mountains where Route 66 passes out of the mountains and into the Mojave Desert. The burros are basically beggars. They will go into the little stores to get food! I, of course, bought burro food and fed them. They make the funniest noises. There were several small burros that were born in the spring. I took pictures, and if I can resolve my computer problems quickly, I'll get a post up soon. Everything is crashing, so I can't load photos or edit them. Not a happy camper! Talk to you soon!

    1. Hi dear Linda! I'm in the library to get internet access. I was supposed to have it in our trailer by last Thursday, but the internet provider is having issues too. There are at least four trailers that have been waiting for access like ours. This too will pass! I hope all is well with you! Sending you love and hugs!

    1. Thanks, Nancy! That's exactly what I've been doing ~ I just finished "The Girl on the Train." Really good! And I'm learning to line dance, which is great fun! Now I want a pair of red leather cowboy boots! Well, actually I've wanted those boots for a long time, but could never really justify them! Sending you and Hugh big hugs!

    1. You would get a kick out of them, Janie! Actually I did, literally! LOL They weren't really wild. They hang around an old ghost town called Oatman. Some people still live there; and of course, there are stores and bars. The burros have learned that tourists will happily feed them, so they're roaming the town begging for burro food. I got caught when someone pulled out a bag of burro food and an excited burro ran up and kicked me to the side before I could even react. I hope you have a great week. As long as my computer isn't stuck in a repair shop, I'll be back next Friday. Take care!

    1. Hi, Jim! Sorry I missed replying to this earlier comment! At that point I was in the depths of computer woes. I was fascinated by working with Apple. The computer tech actually looked at my screen over the internet in the library and guided me about step-by-step with a big red arrow ~ at my speed! And I got great help from a Western Digital tech, after several disconnected calls. He did everything by coaching me over the phone. Turns out my beeping noises and disconnecting problems on the phone with WD were me. Who knew that if you had the phone keyboard up on your phone while holding it to your ear that your ear could hit all kinds of dial tones and even disconnect if your ear hit the right spot. LOL! He had my external drive problems solved in a few minutes, after we got my ear to behave! And I have seen lots of burros in Oatman! they were every bit as wonderful as I imagine, even though one kicked me! I have mega-talent for getting in trouble! LOL! Have a good one!
