I was devastated Tuesday evening when Guillermo Rodriguez and Whitney Carson
were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), Season 35.
Say it isn't so!!!

Guillermo and Whitney were brilliant lights in our increasingly dark and dangerous world.
I looked forward to seeing them dance every week with anticipation and joy.
I have been a big fan of DWTS since the beginning.
In my heart and daydreams, I am ballroom dancing with Terry
who suddenly has the skills of Val, Mark, or Pasha. 😂😂😂
Ain't ever gonna happen. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
(Someone snapped this photo of my brother Roy and I dancing
at Natalie and Jake's reception at the Royal Canadian Legion in Digby, Nova Scotia.
No one snapped Terry and me, although we danced a lot.
It was such an epic party that the Legion unceremoniously threw us all out at 11:20 pm.
Legendary!!!)

I became a big fan of Guillermo when Stephen Colbert's show was cancelled,
and I began watching Jimmy Kimmel, because I missed the late night humor.
Guillermo is a bundle of fun, a delight, a joy.
So I was thrilled to hear he was on Dancing with the Stars.

Unfortunately, this week, Guillermo and Whitney's low judges' scores
overcame their popular votes, and they were cut.
Boo! Boo! Boo!
They were pure joy and hope!
I will continue to watch the DWTS competition this season.
I have a backup "favorite" contestant who is Ezra Frech,
a two-time Paralympic gold medalist track and field athlete.
He is partnered with Daniella Karagach who is my favorite pro.
Guillermo and Ezra became fast friends on the show, and Guillermo hopes Ezra wins.
Both Guillermo and Ezra danced salsas on Tuesday evening.
Ezra is phenomenal, and I voted for them both on Tuesday.

So are you a Dancing with the Stars fan?
Are you watching this season?
Who are you rooting for?
Have you watched all 35 seasons like me?
I'd love to hear!
Thank you Guillermo and Whitney from the bottom my heart!
Meanwhile I'll share a few favorite photos from my life in recent weeks.

I hope all is well with each of you, my friends!
I'm linking to Gillena's Lunch Break, Nicole's Friday Face Off, Tom's Aloha Friday, and Debra's She Who Seeks.
Have a great weekend!

Sorry, not something I have ever been interested in but a friend of ours goes to see them live every year and is a DWTS junkie.
ReplyDeleteWe're all unique, Alex, and enjoy different things. I would love to see DWTS live, but their touring group always comes to Denver when I'm gone. You have a lucky friend (from my point of view). Happy weekend!
DeleteLots of family and friends time. Yesterday we visited a dear, she is 105 and as sharp as a tack!!! I wish you a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom! May you have a wonderful weekend too!
DeleteYou mean you and Terry can't move like that? Maybe work on it for next year, then the venue will be so impressed you won't get kicked out at 11:20. May make it to 11:30 lol
ReplyDeleteSure looks like fun times in vegas indeed. And the cove of course, but that i knew. Caught Terry spying on you too haha
I'm the worst dancer ~ LOL, despite working on hula. 😂 Terry dances, but only when he can't get out of it. I think I embarrass him, especially if I start jumping enthusiastically to "Jump. Jump. Jump." Which I did at the wedding. You know I love Vegas, Pat. Terry thinks Fremont Street is sketchy, even dangerous at night. But he doesn't enjoy standing against a stage and listening to heavy metal or anything else. Actually it's almost torture for him. And it's my favorite thing. What's a gal gonna do? Jump. Jump. Jump. 😂 So periodically he'll show up and check on me, not always letting me know, and once in a while he'll actually listen to a song by my side. He's a good guy. I think I'll keep him. 😂 ❤️
DeleteYou know, I don't watch "Dancing With The Stars" but after seeing those two fab videos you posted, I think I should start! Love the glittery bling on Ezra Frech's prosthetic -- nice attention to detail! And Guillermo Rodriguez is indeed "a bundle of fun, a delight, a joy," as you say!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Debra! The glittery bling on Ezra's prosthetic was an awesome touch. At least I can catch Guillermo on Kimmel.
DeleteSay it isn't so,
ReplyDeleteHaven't been watching this season
Thanks for linking to AFFF
MUCH LOVE
It's been a great season so far, Gillena. I hope you are enjoying your weekend! ❤️
DeleteDear Louise, I used to watch Dancing with the Stars years ago but don't now.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this, dear friend. I cannot dance 😫 at all. LOL
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
So far my weekend is going well, Linda! I've shaken the flu which I had for a week. I hope you are enjoying your weekend too! ❤️❤️❤️
DeleteNice to catch up with you!-Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYou can’t go wrong with a trip to N.S.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely time with family and friends.
Thanks, Dixie! We had a lovely time. All the best to you!
DeleteI used to watch DWTS but I don't get that channel anymore since we did away with cable. However, it sounds like you are really into it. Nice photo of you dancing with your brother. In fact all of these photos are great. Wow 97 years. Yeah I would worry about you at night, alone on Fremont street. He is a good guy to look after you. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy friend Hal is amazing! He, his wife Dee, and kiddos Terri and Paul helped me through the most difficult nights of my life as well as being friends for 50 years. Terry is a good guy. I'm lucky to have him. Love and hugs to you, Nicole!
DeleteMy husband is oldest of six.
ReplyDeleteHi, Peppy! I'm the oldest of we five. I hope you are enjoying your weekend! ❤️
DeleteI've never seen Dancing With The Stars (I don't have much time for TV these days), but I love to watch good dancers, especially in old movies. Ann Miller was wonderful. I am as clumsy as can be and can't dance at all, although I learned some disco dances many years ago and could manage them. The hustle was pretty simple.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Hi, Janie! There are some wonderful dancers in old movies. I have always longed to be a good dancer, but I have 2 left feet and no rhythm. 😂. All the best to you!
DeleteGlad to see you back online Louise. I think you and I were in Nova Scotia at the same time as we went back this year again. We also headed up to PEI. I don't watch Dancing with the Stars, but I did love seeing you dancing. It's always fun to get together at a wedding or other event where people actually dance. Looks like life has been good lately. Except for your Dancing with the Stars disappointment that is.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erika! My father's family is from PEI. We danced for over five hours at the dinner dance, and it was so much fun. I hope that you had a wonderful time in the Maritimes. Happy weekend!
Deletewonderful photos! Love the dancing! Super fun! :) Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maria! I am having an enjoyable evening, and I hope you are too. ❤️
DeleteI have never watched Dancing with the Stars, but I do enjoy watching a good dance. I very much enjoyed the two videos you included. Unfortunately I never learned to "properly" dance, but you will definitely find me on the dance floor during parties and weddings. I just love to move my body to music.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos, Louise. Having had friends for such a long time is something very special.
It's very special indeed, Carola. Hal is a truly important person in my life. I get up and dance even if I'm lousy at it. It's too much fun to miss out on. And this time was so much fun because we all were dancing with everyone in a group. Lots of laughs for sure. All the best to you!
DeleteYour life in recent weeks looks really fun and loving. And I, too, was devastated that Guilllermo didn't make it. I haven't watched the show regularly in ages (once that stars became 80 percent people I'd never heard of) but would check out videos on yt periodically and I always checked Guillermo's, as soon as I heard he'd be on. He was a light and they were so cute together. I used to take ballroom classes with a friend. Rick is not a dancer, which is too bad, because I love it. I can usually drag him out to the floor on special occasions (drag being the operative word) and he seems to have a good time with it. Go figure. Loved this one, Louise!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanie! I'm really glad that you enjoyed this post. Because I've watched every season, I've been able to stay on top of the pros. Oh to dance like they do. I usually have to drag Terry out on the floor too. I hope you are having a great weekend!
DeleteI've heard of Dancing with the Stars, but never watched it. Your friend Hal looks like he enjoys life. Happy FFO and AFFF.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Elizabeth. Hal does enjoy life. He is a retired engineer, and he is always tinkering with machines, creating art, and carving flutes, among other things. His wife Dee was the best friend I've had in my life. Have an awesome October!
DeleteI’m not really a DWTS fan myself, but it’s lovely to see how much joy Guillermo and Whitney brought you, and how their performances created such wonderful excitement and connection.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your understanding, Roentare! ❤️
