Home Again!

After six great nights in Las Vegas with my husband Terry,
brother Roy, and sister-in-law Sue,
I crawled into our home and into my bed.
Many hours of sleep later, I feel human again.

I can't party quite as hardy as I used to,
but boy did we have fun!

I flew out of Denver in a snowstorm on IWSG Day
and quickly gave up on any idea of making the rounds to fellow members.
I'll be replying to comments and returning visits starting tomorrow.

I can't wait to catch up with everyone.

    1. Hey, Pat! Yes, it would be nice to have a pile of cash like that just lying around! I always get a kick out of visiting the stash at Binions. Hawaii was coming up soon, but we decided not to go this year. :( It's all good ~ We're just hitting pause for a bit. Enjoy the weekend, my friend!

  2. You had to take that first picture!
Glad you're home safe. I would've thought twice about getting on a plane in those snowy conditions.

    1. Hi, Alex! Of course I did! It's always fun to imagine having a million dollars in a big pile. The display was one of the sights we showed Roy and Sue on our whirlwind tour of Downtown Vegas. Our flight to Vegas was delayed for over an hour until the snow conditions eased. It's always a relief to get above the cloud deck on a stormy day. Have a good one!

    1. Thanks, Jean! It's good to be home! The pilot made it to the gate just fine. Glad it was him and not me taxiing the plane. I hope all is well with you and Hugh!

  5. Happy to have you back. I would be hesitant flying in that snowstorm. I landed one time ina storm in a small plane and when we landed in Nradford a huge puff of snow burst up onto the windshield. And I saw it because the plane was so small there seas to even a curtain between us and the pilot. Love tha pt money shot. Are you gamblers? My husband loves it...I don’t. Would rather buy something or have an experience. Only been to Vegas once...quite a place.

    1. Hi, Peggy! That would be scary to see the windshield of the plane blocked by snow. I'm sure those northern pilots are used to that. Roy, Sue, Terry, and I are all small time gamblers. I like to play Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker, and Video Poker. It's lots of fun, and Vegas is a crazy experience. I have so much fun with my camera while I'm there. I hope that you and Don are enjoying a good weekend, snug and warm.

btw, I'm reading a great book called "The Muralist" by B. A. Shapiro. It's an historical mystery centered around the Abstract Expressionists. It's fun to have Pollock, Rothko, de Kooning, and Krasner as characters ~ Maybe it will help me understand their art better! It's well-written and tackles some historical issues that are relevant today. I bet you'd like it!

  7. I would be nervous on a plane during winter weather.

    Or summer weather

    I'm nervous on planes

    1. I understand that you are nervous on planes. It took me a while to get over my nervousness. A navy engineer who specialized in the structural engineering of airplanes got me over my fear during a turbulent flight to Calgary. I focus on his calming words every time we start to rock and roll in the sky. Have a good one, my friend!

    1. Hi, Martha! We had so much fun clowning around. It's wonderful to spend time with Roy and Sue. They lived overseas for many years, and sometimes two years would go by between visits. Since I love my brother dearly this was very difficult. Oh my goodness, yes, it is nice to be home! We canceled our scheduled trip to Hawaii because we had a lot of important things we needed to take care of on the home front. But I'm surprisingly okay with that. We've been traveling so much that it's especially lovely to be home! All the best to you and George!

  9. Las Vegas can be a lot of fun and rather cheap if you don't blow too much gambling. We've been many times though now it's been a few years. One of my daughters is going this coming weekend and wants me to come visit. It's a long drive to go alone though I've gone solo several times. I'll have to think on this trip.

    1. Hi, Arlee! I've never had a bad time in Vegas and I've been going since 1973. We've made the most of comps and coupons over the years, so it's usually an inexpensive trip for us. I enjoy playing Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker, and video poker, but I am strictly a small stakes gal. If you decide to go to visit your daughter in Vegas, I hope that you have a great time. I definitely don't like long drives by myself. Thanks for visiting and commenting, and for the link to your blog. I'll be by tomorrow. Take care!

  10. We honeymooned in Vegas and I'd love to go back again. Preferably not during a snow storm in Denver though. I was stuck in that airport 8 hours once already due to a snow storm.

    1. Happy Sunday, Diane! Eight hours stuck in the airport is no fun! But what a fun place to honeymoon in! Have a great rest of the weekend!

    1. Thanks, Truedessa! We had a lot of fun posing for pictures in Binions. I'd like to say that we won a little cash, but sadly we lost a little. It bought a whole lot of fun and memories though. I hope all is well with you!

    1. It's great to be home, Stacy, and we're here for a while too! I love to travel, but every so often it's good just to be home. I'm looking forward to making progress on some backed up projects, like getting rid of some excess furniture and emptying the crawl space. Have a great day tomorrow! Hugs back at you!

  14. I hope you weren't stuck in the snow in Vegas! It was sooo hot when we went (July, probably the worst time to go lol). Did you see O while you were there? We went to KA and thought it was just OK for a Cirque performance. But we did go to the last showing and were exhausted from all of that walking we did earlier, so maybe we would have enjoyed it more if we weren't so tired. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

    1. Hi, Theresa! Just found this. We didn't not see any shows while we were there ~ busy doing other things. However, I have seen O and loved it. I've seen most of the Cirque productions in Vegas. I agree with your assessment of Ka. I've seen Love several times. It is great. We're going back at the end of March, and I might catch a show then.
