My brain is overloaded with houses, floor plans, and real estate photos.
Outside it's cold and snowy,
I just want to pull a quilt over my head,
and not come out until it's warm and sunny.

even though he is flying to the Vegas area early tomorrow
(Friday) morning to look at more houses.
He's as comfy as a napping cat!

Usually I'm goal and task-oriented, but I feel aimless today,
like these ducks wandering around at the bottom of our driveway.

I could use a little luck in the middle of all this house hunting!
Wait! I've got some luck!
from Debra, a blogging friend in Canada.
Recently Debra, who blogs at She Who Seeks
(a provocative, funny, irreverent, historical, informative,
barrier-breaking blog), held a Tin Foil Hat Contest.
Nine creative and brave individuals entered her contest.
Actually eight, and a ninth who shamelessly pandered to Her Royal Highness,
Debra's dearly departed cat who occasionally posts from above.
The ninth contestant courted help because
she remembered the contest just three hours before it ended.
Furthermore, any creative ideas she had scattered, as she waited
anxiously to learn if her offer on her dream home was accepted.
All she managed were
cat ears in honor of
Her Royal Highness.

Well, we didn't get my dream house with its amazing view.
Nor the next one, the third one we placed an offer on.
But I did win The Pussy Riot Award in Debra's Tin Foil Hat Contest.
All nine contestants earned a unique award and award gifts thanks to Debra's generosity!
I was delighted with the bee tea towel, note paper, and Spirit Luck Stone!

The Spirit Luck Stone is most welcome.
It's smooth and soothing to rub in my hands.
Holding it calms my overloaded brain,
and it may even bring me some welcome luck!

just like it happened to us down here, the right new home will come along when least expected. Meantime, hold that stone tight.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean! You're right, Jean! I just have to be patient, Terry came along when I least expected it, and he is the best thing that ever happened to me! Hugs to you and Hugh! Have a great day!
DeleteMaybe the right home will get picked up on by that tin foil hat haha calming that overloaded brain is a win, go smooth rocks. Congrats on the win too. Hopefully a house won't deny you soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat! Rocks and I have a special connection! Have a good one, my friend!
DeleteThat was generous of her to give something to everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe right house will happen. And it will be amazing.
Thanks, Alex! Yes, Debra is generous ~ and full of fun! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteI adore being pandered to and so of course, your tin foil hat was MY personal favourite! You have said some very nice things about my human's blog, but of course it's ME behind the scenes pulling all the creative strings and suggesting things to her. On her own, Debra She Who Seeks is dull as dish water.
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ, your Royal Highness. I highly doubt that Debra is as dull as dish water! However, I absolutely believe you are pulling creative strings and whispering brilliant ideas to her. I am so glad that you considered my hat your favorite. I made it especially for you! Wishing you an eternity of pampering, always of course, with your favorite goodies! And don't stop suggesting things to our favorite Debra!
DeleteHope you find the home you're looking for, I 've been to Vegas twice and really enjoyed myself there and the surrounding area.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Yvonne.
Thanks, Yvonne! The sun has come out after days of gloom, cold, and snow. And I'm off to get my hair done ~ getting rid of the snow accumulated around my roots ~ LOL Have a good one!
DeleteOh how cool! I love your tin foil hat, dang it...with all of our house hunting stress and woes I completely forgot about Debra's contest!!! I was going to do some kind of Australian Outback hat! :) What a lovely prize. I'm feeling your angst Louise...I'm disappointed we're still going to be renting for the next year, but part of me is breathing a sigh of relief that we don't have to go through the house hunting again right now! I'm with the bunny today actually...it's 8C and raining, feels like November.
ReplyDeleteHi, Rain! Just getting back to blogger now after another hectic weekend. House offer # 4 down and out. I just want to forget about house hunting for a while! I get that sigh of relief! At least you don't have to move from your present home! Take care! I'll be by ~ just not tonight. I'm wiped out! Hugs to you!
DeleteHard to think of snow now here, I got to cut my grass.
ReplyDeleteLucky you, Adam! I'll be by soon! Wishing you and Daisy a great week!
DeleteThat is entirely too much snow for now!
ReplyDeleteAw, how lovely! Debra is pretty amazing. The right home will surface and you will just love it!
ReplyDeleteoh dear i am sorry for snow again
ReplyDeletei was not expecting more snow though but mother nature is full of surprises indeed!
the image of Terry taking nap and your words made me smile
right now hubby is napping beside me with slight snoring (4:30) pm and he can do this for long until i awake him for evening tea but boys who can't hold their laughter while gaming disturb him time to time .(they study in evenings so play in afternoons)
I loved peeking your outdoors :)
ducks seems to be happy with rains though bunnies are shy :)
i hope Terry returns with some wonderful news from Florida !
Debra is such a darling stone and her sense of humor is hilarious

Teresa C.
Hi, Teresa! The weather seems to be crazy everywhere. I hope your rains are behind you for a while. Take care!
Deleteis there snow now?
ReplyDeleteI live in a tropical country, and never even feel snowfall :(
