Happy July 4th to all my American family and friends
who are celebrating today, tomorrow, or all weekend.
I hope you have a safe and fun time.
Terry and I will be home enjoying the holiday on our deck.
With any luck we'll see some fireworks in the evening.
This is my third post for the week,
so I'm sharing a little 4th of July lightness and humor.
We all need lots of both right now.
I think the fireworks started four years ago and have never stopped.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Fourth! We'll also be at home chilling.
LOL! Take care, and happy chilling, Alex!

Loved the photo's Louise. Enjoy your 4th July, will be thinking of you all.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well.
Yvonne.
Thanks, Yvonne! I picked the kitty with the hat just for you! It was so cute! Take care, and hugs to you!🎆
DeleteLOL. Too funny. Thanks for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you enjoyed these, Anne! Have a safe and happy weekend! 🌞
DeleteYou know...I hadn't thought of that about George Washington, but it is true, isn't it? 😂
ReplyDeleteIs that Merican house real???
Happy Fourth, Fundy. And many more!
🇺🇸
I think it's a real house; if not, it's a great computer construct. Have a safe and happy 4th, Sandi! 🥂
DeleteHappy independence day dear Louise !
ReplyDeletei enjoyed funnies but Steve Carell made me laugh
wishing you all the happiness in days ahead
Hi dear Baili! Thank you for visiting me! Steve made me laugh too! I hope you are all doing well! You and your family have been on my mind so much. I've just not been visiting like I want to, Hugs to you, and please stay safe. 🥰
DeleteThey cancelled fireworks here.... maybe some neighbor will have a family reunion and we can watch their fireworks :) Thanks for the laughs.

You bet, Jeff! Our fireworks have been cancelled too, but the fireworks stands have been doing a brisk business. On the ridge across from our home there are a lot of big, expensive homes, and typically there are a lots of fireworks to watch. Take care, my friend! 🤞for fireworks for us both!
DeleteThese are all so funny, Louise! My fave is "I Brexit'd before it was cool." But remember, you have to leave cookies AND milk for Captain America!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you enjoyed them, Debra! I actually don't have a favorite, but I had a feeling you'd like the "Brexit'd" one, and I specifically worked in Captain America just for you! Cookies and milk left out for sure ~ My Captain America will gobble them down! Take care! 🍻
DeleteHi Louise,
ReplyDeleteI like your sense of humour, and all the pics. Very clever the one about the man who could not fly a flag in his front yard.
I am sure you had a great independence celebration day.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the funnies, Brenda! Our entire street is lined with flags on both sides. It's very festive. Please stay safe and healthy! 🌺
DeleteIf you are forbidden to fly a flag, make one so huge, that cannot be taken down by any authority!! that is the best laugh. Happy 4th to you all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean! I really loved that one! Take care, my friend!
DeleteNo fireworks here. Dogs everywhere didn't have to phone and then pee on the floor. Fun ones indeed.
ReplyDeleteHey, Pat! I stayed up very late last night finishing "Elusive." Great fun, great ending! How the Disconnective kept fighting, I don't know. Kind of like Frodo and Sam, I guess. I worry that if I were challenged like that, I might fall short. Goddard was brilliant fun. I read the trilogy back to back, and I will certainly go back to reread the "Elusive." So much nonstop action to take in. I want Billy's weapon ~ It would be very handy right now! You, my friend, improve as a writer with every book! Well done!
DeleteThanks. Glad they were enjoyed. Had fun with Goddard and the others too. I'm too stubborn to quit, so I might not fall short. Then again I may just have an exploding flaming zombie kill me and call it a day lol Billy's weapon sure would be handy.
DeleteThe cat in the basket is my favorite! You found some good funnies. I hate the 4th of July. The dogs suffer horribly because of the fireworks. Maybe we won't have as many this year. It's raining and Favorite Young Man says it's supposed to rain tomorrow night, too.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I dearly love Grumpy Cat. Janie! I had to include him. I know how much dogs hate July 4th. I used to have a Scottie named MacBeath, and he was miserable on this holiday. It's been raining here much of the afternoon, and it's raining right now, so maybe we won't have many household fireworks tonight. I've made homemade beans and pork spare ribs for dinner, along with fresh tomatoes, and pineapple upside down cake. My beans are still cooking ~ eleven hours and counting! No worries, I'm watching the Washington DC flyover. This Air Force brat loves planes! I hope that you are finding some pleasure in the day, and I hope the lake in your backyard isn't growing with the rain. I'm thinking of Franklyn and Penelope and hoping they are okay! Hugs to you!
DeleteHappy 4th July. Like the dogs on the phone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Betty! I thought the dogs were pretty funny! We have rumbles of fireworks in the neighborhood, even though it's sprinkling right now, following rain much of the afternoon. I always feel sorry for animals at this time. I visited your post and forgot to say that I love Brighton. I've been fortunate to spend a little time there. Take care!
DeleteHappy birthday belated 4th
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adam! I hope that you, Daisy, and loved ones had a safe and happy holiday!
DeleteI love what the guy did to his house. He showed that homeowners association!
ReplyDeleteHi Louise! I'm taking today to play catch up on blog hopping too. It's been a crazy summer, year for that matter! We're in the process of getting our house in shape to sell. We had hoped to have it on the market by now, but we really underestimated how long it was going to get it to the shape we wanted it in before selling. We probably have another month or two before we're happy, maybe even a little longer. *sigh* As the saying goes, that's life for you.
ReplyDeleteOur fireworks were canceled this year, but we were still able to see a few out in the country. We heard them almost all month though. I am always so glad when the holiday is over, as are my dogs.
