Sometimes We Just Need to Laugh!

Today is a much better day than where I was week ago.
I spent the afternoon with four teachers, specialists,
and a teaching assistant from my former school, Sunrise Elementary.
We are all retired, and we get together in our book club.
I love it because I get to see them all again, and I read books I never would have heard of.

Today (Thursday) we discussed Celeste Ng's Little Fires Everywhere.
What a fabulous book; what a fabulous discussion!
Motherhood from so many perspectives.

This week, after all the turmoil and distress of last week,
I just wanted to look at things that made me laugh.
There's no rhyme or reason to my choices for the memes I'm sharing,
other than they made me laugh when I really needed to.
So here are a few memes that I found in different places on the internet:

Every day it's getting a little calmer, and I am a little more together.
I hope things are looking up for you!

Have a good weekend everyone and a happy, carefree week to follow!

 Till next time ~

    1. Hi, Janie! It's so good to see you! I heard that there was a mini-series of "LFE." I'll have to see if I can get it. We've all got to stand up for our friends! Take care!

  6. OK beautiful lady, your post is exactly what I needed. Laughter is what makes a day alright. Glad you had a chance to visit with old friends and discuss books. I want the chocolate and 6 million dollars. I'll share if you make it happen. :) I really love the one, "We might be lost." I have seen long horn sheep standing on the side of a mountain. It's amazing. Thank you for joining FFO and have the very best weekend.

    1. Thanks, Nicole! I bought a ticket for the big Powerball a week or two ago. No luck! 😂 I use had fun imagining what I would do with it. Probably change my name and disappear for a bit. Wild goats and sheep are amazing. I keep hoping to see them when I'm going up mountain canyons. One we were stuck in a line of traffic in Clear Creek Canyon. I was scouring the hills looking for for sheep or goats. I happened to look toward the rear of our suv and there was a long horn sheep right beside the backseat door. I could have touched him! All the best to you!

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth! I laugh at the "lost" one every time I see it. I've had to be rescued from trees, fire towers, and cliffs more times ~ It's embarrassing! 😂 But I'm doing so much better heights now. I hope that you've been enjoying a great weekend!

  10. Lol going from wolf to wiener is quite the embarrassment. I'm with the one on the 6 million dollars. Hell, I'm not too greedy. 2 would be fine.

Good things are on the upswing indeed.

    1. Can you tell I've been buried? 😂 I didn't even touch bases with you from Parkway on Friday. I'd be happy with $2M too! I would have loved to win that big Powerball recently ~ me and millions of others. I hope all is well with you! I'll get back on track. Take care, Pat!

  11. These memes are hilarious! I love the T-rex and the first one the best- the maths one is great too!
I would love to be in a book group but I don't really like being made to read specific books!
Little Fires Everywhere was SUCH a good book!

    1. Hi, Kezzie! It's always a delight to see you! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the book LFE. One of the things I enjoy about my book club is it makes me read books I wouldn't otherwise know about. Our next book is "American Wolf" which is the true story of a female wolf in Yellowstone National Park. I just picked it up today. I really love Yellowstone, so I know I'll enjoy it. Have a great week!

  12. Precious friend Louise 🥰

I felt really good and happy that you have crawled out of the feeling of sadness and disappointment that I sensed in your previous post!

Recently flooding has caused great damage to millions of people here in my third world country and it was incredibly painful to see people suffering everyday in news 😞

Life is bouquet of flowers and thorns and we have no option except make through them somehow. Faith is only sustainable and reliable choice that help us to figure out how to survive through 🥹
I am happy and thankful you could spend time with friends and talked on favourite topics, books 🤗yes it’s a dream company for me as well, lucky you to find it 🤗🙏

I enjoyed the meme thoroughly because they were awesome and funny enough to make me laugh and smile each time 🥰😊👌
Thank you for bringing joy to my day dear friend 🥰
    Hugs and best wishes 🥰♥️

    1. You always make my day, Baili! And I'm thankful to be back to my usual self. I am so sorry for all that your country is suffering from. Pakistan is experiencing some of the worst climate change consequences in the world, and it's not your country's fault. There is so much suffering in the world right now. I don't know what I would do without faith. Without faith, I wouldn't have hope. And without hope, I would be in despair about the future of the world. I am so grateful to have you as my friend! It's a special joy in my life. Wishing you and your loved ones happiness, safety, and joy in each other. ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Hi, Jeff! I'm glad that you enjoyed the memes. Laughter always helps me. I was really rocked by the Charlie Kirk assassination, and yet another school shooting in Colorado. Gun violence, political violence ~ It seems hopeless. But despairing doesn't get you anywhere, so I had to shake it off and start thinking about what, if anything, I can do. I hope you are doing well ! Take care, my friend!
