Monday I had cataract surgery,
and it has gone very well.
Terry took great care of me,
as did my ophthalmologist Dr. Burcham
and the caring staff at the Surgery Center of the Rockies.
It was sheer bliss to lie on the couch downstairs after my surgery,
binge listening to multiple episodes of The Young and the Restless
and napping until late into the evening.
Terry kept me well-supplied with coffee, water, pizza (for dinner)
and reminders to use three different kinds of eyedrops every two hours.
You Bet, Terry!
as I ease back into using a computer.
I'll be back with a regular post next Friday!
Wishing you all well!

Glad it went well! Good for Terry - pizza cures all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex! If I'm not up for pizza, I am in serious trouble! Have a good one!
DeleteAnd we wish you well too!
ReplyDeleteBeen through the cataract surgery too.
Just one more thing I checked off the 'to do' list.
Thanks, NTNPN! The never ending "to do" list! It just grows and grows! All the best to you this weekend!
DeleteGlad your surgery went well... I was told that I may have to go down this path in a year or two. Take care and let the healing come.

Thanks, Jeff! That's what I'm doing, although laying low is very difficult for me! Cataract surgery is no big deal, other than you can't do much for two weeks. Have a great weekend, my friend!
DeleteHa ha...love the pose with the mug in the chair. It is the traditional pose of all bloggers everywhere.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came through it OK and can't wait to hear all about it!
I'm doing well, Sandi! This eye went much better than the last one, and I thought the last one went well! The worst part is having to take it slow for two weeks. I do not do slow well! Have a great weekend!
DeleteGlad everything went well! And I say milk it for all it's worth! :)
ReplyDeleteThe "Milking It" lasted one afternoon and evening ~ but it was bliss! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteThat's good. Just let him spoil you.
ReplyDeleteI did, and it was awesome! Now it's back to me spoiling him ~ LOL! Have a fun weekend!
DeleteYou look like a robotic pirate! But a cheerful one, of course! Hope you are better soon. x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay! I'm doing well. That eye patch is my friend, especially at night. I have it so taped on! I managed to make it one night on my back with a pillow under my knees ~ Now I'm back on my stomach again. I hope you are over your cold by now!
DeleteOh, the infamous Bug Eye! Glad it went well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra! It really was uneventful, especially the second time around. I was ridiculously relaxed. Have a good one, my friend!
DeleteLouise! I'm so glad it went well! You look so cute and cuddly! Milk it girl!!! :)))) Soaps...my gosh, General Hospital was my addiction for about 20 years. I had to ween off that show and it wasn't easy!!! :) I don't have a tv anymore so it makes it a lot easier ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rain! I've been watching The Y&R for 46 years, come November 14 (the day after I emigrated to the USA). I can't stop watching now ~ I've got too much time invested in it now. Please don't take my tv!!! LOL Have a great weekend, my friend!
DeleteHugh had a similar patch too. Love the rug, is that an Aran pattern? And coffee served up, lap it all up. Did they say.." NO bending over" and I cannot remember for how long, it was a good while. No driving for 3 weeks too. Hugh struggled with that most of all. Heal well. I wish our local hospital had a shorter time to wait and more surgeons, at the moment not one is available!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jean, the rug is an Aran pattern. My mother-in-law knit it ~ She's from Ireland. I have a beautiful sweater that she knit too ~ one of my most prized possessions. I just can't lift anything over 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms) for two weeks. I asked Dr. Burcham if he could tell Terry I couldn't cook dinner for a few nights, and he told Terry I couldn't do housework for six months! That lasted all of the day and evening of my surgery. I can drive now, although I haven't. I'm sorry that you have to wait so long for a surgeon! Eyes are so important! Have a lovely weekend, you two!
DeleteGreat that it went well and that Terry made sure you were all taken care of as you listened to the clone come back with some will pages and all the Adam drama with the kid. What? My grandmother has it on lol
ReplyDeleteWhat, indeed! ~ LOL I'm 44 episodes behind, even after binging on Monday! At least I plan to be home until after Christmas, so maybe I'll catch up. My grandmother loved the Y&R ~ now I'm grandmother aged! say it isn't so. Have a good one, my rhyming friend!
Deletelol whoops, may have need a spoiler alert.
DeleteNo worries, Pat! Adam is always causing havoc! LOL
DeleteWe women resist taking it easy... glad you stepped down for a bit! You'll have to tell us how wonderfully you see after the surgery.
ReplyDeleteDreaming! I've been thinking of you a lot lately! I hope all is well with you. I am seeing so much better!!! Especially colors! Yeah, taking it easy is so hard!!!
DeleteI hope I never have to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteReally, Adam, it's not that bad! Wishing you and Daisy a happy weekend together!
DeleteHope all goes well after your surgery Louise. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Thanks, Yvonne! I am doing well and can see much better, especially in the distance. I hope you are having a good weekend. I'm on my way over to your blog. I had a big yellow sticky note on my bathroom mirror this morning reminding me to visit you first! Hugs to you!
DeleteLooks as if you're recovering nicely. I watched The Young and The Restless more than 30 years ago and then lost interest. Several years ago I visited a friend who watched the show. I was shocked to see that many of the same actors were still on it. They were older versions of themselves, just as I am an older version of me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Hi, Janie! I'm coming along well! I never kicked the Y&R habit, and I've got too much invested in the show now to stop. Nikki and I have tracked through life together ~ LOL! Have a good one!
DeleteHow come you're still beautiful? After surgery I look like crap. Rest dear Louise, and be patient with yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Geo! Patience is not my long suit! LOL! I hope that you and Norma are safe and okay!
Deletei agree with geo dear Louise that how lovely you look after surgery :)))
ReplyDeleteyour innocent child like smile just grabbed my heart :)
oh i am sooo happy for you my wonderful wise friend :)
i can see the serenity on your face which seems to have tons of contributions by love and care that Terry gave you meanwhile :)
hope you feel even better soon and start to get along with your routine
sending you tons of healing energy oceans of love and tight hugs!
Thank you for your lovely comment, Baili! I'm getting better and stronger every day ~ Energy, love, and hugs much appreciated!!! Returning the same to you!
DeleteYou look adorable! So happy everything went well! Rest and take care of you! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi, Stacy! You always lift my spirits! Big hugs back at you!
DeleteI'm glad it went well. And you'll get to see better.
ReplyDeleteTeresa
Thanks, Teresa! I'm very happy with my improved sight! Have a good one!
