Avoiding Reality

This evening I avoided reality by escaping into funnies about LOTR.

If you're not a fan of The Lord of the Rings, you might as well skip this post.

Me?  I love all things Tolkien.

  2. I love the one with the cats although I can relate to Golumn trying to thread a needle.

    1. Every time I look at those cats, I laugh. And yes, I'm Gollum with a needle.

  4. Loved every meme and LOL! I'm a big LOTR fan. Read the trilogy three times back in the day. Peter Jackson's movies were amazing too.

  5. So clever, you would see something new each time you looked at them. Reality, love that one. Take care and have lots more laughs up North. I saw a sketch on Instagram, the person behind the cleverness was the " Naked Pastor" and he has so many on his web page, , this was related to black faced sheep. We have some here in NZ, but I think that special breed did originate in Scotland or one of the Isles there. Look him up, more smiles in every one.

    1. I looked up the Naked Pastor, Jean. He and I would get along really well. Some of his jokes cut to the core of hypocrisy! Brilliant! I hope that you are feeling better. My sister Barb just put away a stack of firewood to rival yours. You and she are going to have lovely fires in the future. Please take care, my friend!

  7. I love LOTR - and this post. I think my favorite is the elf one "not Santa's helpers" LOL. Although the white hand one wins the award for most adorbs.

  8. I confess that the books are among the few that I've never read. I also didn't exactly watch the movies. My daughter was in love with the books so I gave her special editions of the movies. Every time she came home from college she watched them (along with Good Will Hunting because Will is into math). I was usually in the room while she watched so I kind of understand the memes. Mostly what I'm thinking though is that Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood and Viggo Mortenson are all really hot.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Hi, Janie! I enjoyed your comment very much. I always thought Orlando Bloom was really hot as well. It took me a bit to adjust to Viggo Mortenson because the Strider/Aragorn of my imagination looked much more rugged and weathered. Eventually I warmed up to him. All the best to you!

  9. The horse kiss seems pretty close to truth. I read Tolkien in college, but haven't reread it and don't seem interested in reading it again.

    1. Hi, Jeff! Either Tolkien is to your taste or he is not. I've read most of what Tolkien more than once, and I took an English course on him. He will always be my favorite. All the best to you, my friend!

  11. I have to admit, I'm the one in the first meme that hasn't seen these movies (or read the books for that matter). I did try watching the first one several time, but I always fall asleep after starting them. I am not cut out for 3+ hour movies, I suppose. I did find the memes funny though as I've heard enough about LOTR to understand what the basic concept of it is.
