Do you have a word of the year? Is there one word that sums up what you need to work on or change in the coming year? ... What is your word for 2023? Why?

Happy New Year, Everyone!
Wishing you all the best in 2023: happiness, health, creativity, fulfillment,
and most of all love! May the new year be good to you and yours!

Do I have a word for the year?
You bet I do! It's Healthy.
It's the foundation I need to make progress on anything else I want to do.
And I have a lot I want to do: from spending time with Terry, my family, and friends,
to writing, traveling, photography, learning, and reading,
and to becoming a strong and powerful gym rat again.

I hope you have a great day visiting your IWSG friends.
I'm keeping my post very short today.
Happy writing in January!
I LOVE your happy smiling photos. Sadly that last image strikes very true here. Very, very true.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue! What a past few years it has been. Have a great rest of the week.
DeleteI always love the photos of you and Terry. And what a great word of the year! It's something we can all relate to.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leigh! I'm glad you enjoy the photos. Have an awesome 2023!
DeleteI'm working on my health this year too, though I didn't pick it as my word of the year. Loved your pictures of Terry and you. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Natalie! And thanks for co-hosting today. Wishing you a healthy and creative new year.
DeleteYou're right! Health affects everything. May you both have a healthy 2023.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex! All my best to you and your wife in this new year!
DeleteI love that photo of the two of you. I'm still working on my word of the year. I'm narrowed down to three!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanie. It took me a nano second to come up with healthy. It was like a bright, flashing neon sign after all I've been through in the past nineteen months. The end is in sight ~ healthy times ahead! I'm curious to see what word you settled on.
DeleteStart with your health and everything else will happen, too.
ReplyDeleteThat's my mantra this year! Happy new year, Diane!
DeleteYou have the most beautiful smile, Louise. Best to you in 2023. Best wishes on obtaining fabulous health. I'm with you, here's to feeling great! Happy 4th New Day!
ReplyDeleteYou're so kind, Joylene! Wishing you all the best in 2023. I can't wait to see what you do! Hugs to you!
Delete"Healthy" is a great word and goal for 2023! What are those lei-like things that you and Terry are wearing in the first photo? Are they made of shells?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your Rare One, Debra! The leis are made of ginger blossoms. I reconnected with an old friend from over fifty years ago in Hawaii last year, and she and her husband greeted us with the exquisite leis. The ginger flowers were cool, soft, and fragrant, a gift I'll never forget.
DeleteWow, so beautiful and unique! Thanks for the explanation! Have fun in Hawaii, you two.
DeleteHealthy! I like that.
ReplyDeleteI love reading everyone's Word of the Year. Mine is "watch," as in looking expectantly for something good to happen, not time piece. 😄 You ever notice how no one picks a Word like sleep, laziness, or get off my lawn? Ha ha...we all aspire to greatness I suppose.
Happy New Year to you and yours.
By the way, your hair looks fabulous!
Thanks, Sandi! Great word, Sandi ~ This world needs something good to happen after the past few years! Hugs to you!
DeleteLove the photos! And that last quote on goals is spot on:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer. I think the last quote resonates with a lot of people after the past few years. All the best to you in 2023!
DeleteGreat post. And a great word. When we're physically healthy, our minds work better, too. You gave me a chuckle when I read the last meme. So true! Best wishes for 2023.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane! My brain was in a fog for at least half of 2022 ~ lol. Wishing you all the best in 2023!
DeleteGreat photos! Happy New Year and Happy Health!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tyrean! All the best to you in 2023!
DeleteExcellent choice. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnna from elements of emaginette
Thanks, Anna! I'm looking forward to seeing what word people choose. All the best to you in the new year!
DeleteThanks, Debs! And thanks for co-hosting today. All the best in 2023!
ReplyDeleteHealthy is not only a good word, it's a perfect goal for me since I began the year positive for COVID! That's a nice looking trout stream next to where the two are posed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to finish of 2022 and start 2023, Jeff! Covid is no fun. I can't tell you about the trout fishing in the stream, but it's the Little Firehole River and it flows by the trail to Mystic Falls in Yellowstone. I hope you're feeling 100% now. Take care!
DeleteHave a great 2023. My word is 'no'! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHugs back at you, Valerie! "No" is an excellent word! I have trouble with "No." All the best to you in 2023!
DeleteLovely photos! May you have a wonderful year.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tonja! Wishing you the same!
DeleteAn extremely important word! This reminds me of the Princess Bride when Count Rugen says, "If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything."
ReplyDeleteI love all your photos, Louise!
ReplyDeleteHealth is definitely top priority.
I've never had a 'word of the year'. But I believe in perseverance. So maybe that will be my ongoing word for years to come.
All the best for 2023!
All the best to you, too, in 2023, Michelle! "Perseverance" is a very important word. It's the key to many things in life! Take care!
DeleteYou two look so happy. I love seeing photos of you. Hi FFO is now up I put the wrong day for the auto link up. Have a lovely day today.
ReplyDeleteHealth is the name of the game no matter what you want to do...almost. If you want to keep Drs. in business then I guess health isn't needed. But who wants that...maybe Dr groupies? Are there a thing? I'm done lol
ReplyDeleteHere's to a much healthier 2023 and lots of fun and traveling about.
The goal meme is very true
ReplyDeleteHere's to being healthy and wishing you a wonderfully fun New Year. Cheers, Ivy.
