Laughter Is Good!

"Stress relief from laughter?  It's no joke," says the Mayo Clinic.
Since I'm feeling stressed, I decided that I'd post some funnies this week.
After all, laughter is good for many things, including your soul.

When I was pulling a load of laundry out of my dryer yesterday,
one of my dryer balls fell on the floor.
I picked it up and started laughing, because it looked just like I felt.

I took it as a sign from the Universe and started searching for something to laugh at.
I found this and I cracked up, because it reminded me
of my wonderful friend Pat Hatt, his zany humor, and his menagerie of pets.

❤️ 🐾 Here's to you, Pat! 🐾 ❤️

I hope the funnies tickle your funny bone.   They certainly did mine.
My only criteria for selecting them was they made me laugh when I needed to.
Here's to laughter!

An early ADHD clue I should have picked up on.

    1. All the critters have a harness. Why not a kid? ~ lol! I learned to untie the rope knots. Once Mom found me at the top of a ladder leaned against the roof of my grandfather's workshop. She told me I told her not to worry, because I had tied the rope to the ladder. 🪜 You've got to love kids! They're so much fun. Have a great weekend, and hopefully you get to spend part of it with the boys. Take care, my friend.

  22. I am all in favor of laughter as a cure for stress. I go to Facebook and watch the video posts and YouTube for the funny cat videos. They cure me every time ... and now today, you have cured me at least temporarily of the stress that is ever present in my current life (daughter issues). You were a cute youngster ADHD and all. I know many ADHD people and they are full of life and fun ... as are you :)

    1. Thanks, Andrea! Negotiating family currents can be challenging, and I wish you success with yours. I consider realizing that I was ADHD one of my life's greatest ironies. I had been teaching at least 15 years when I suddenly realized that I was ADHD. I worked very well with kiddos with learning issues, and I had had many ADHD students. I suddenly realized that all the accommodations I was putting place in my classroom over the years for ADHD kiddos helped me cope and that I couldn't function successfully without them. I was stunned! So I shot an email off to my siblings to ask them what they thought, and they all replied laughing, including my youngest sister who worked in special ed. They told me that their secret nickname for me for years was "The ADHD One." That was when my brother pointed out that most of my childhood photos featured a harness and a rope, something I hadn't even noticed! Here's to diversity and richness in life. Sending you a big hug!

    1. Hi, Baili! Thanks for your lovely comment, as always, my kind and thoughtful friend! I hope that you have had fun with all your guests and in-laws. I'm looking forward to visiting my family in Nova Scotia soon. It's hard seeing everyone only once a year. I'm sure looking forward to lots of hugs and fun! Trust me, I know what it is like to open a blog post, and suddenly several days have vanished before I get back to it. Story of my life! I get caught up on one thing and fall behind on three others. Now that I can see again I've been feasting on books late into the wee hours. Being able to read again without struggling is a great joy! Sending you much love!

Your childhood photos are adorable. However, I wonder WHY you wore a harness and trailed a rope from the time you could walk until you were about four... (?)

    1. Hi, Traude! I'm just catching up after a busy, busy week. I always had a harness and a rope, because I was a runner. I never sat still. It was the only way my mother could keep me safe. Sometimes she would attach my rope to the clothesline, and I could race around in a bigger area. That's the hyperactive in ADHD - Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder. When I was a child, ADHD wasn't know about. I'm 74, and I still have trouble sitting still. My brother Roy, on the other had, would sit for hours on his blanket. If there was a toy on the blanket out of his reach, he would pull the blanket and toy to him instead of moving. It always amazes me how different siblings can be. I hope you are enjoying a great weekend! I'll be catching up on visiting your posts and others this weekend! Hugs to you!
