Every month the IWSG announces a question that members can answer
with advice, insight, a personal experience, or a story in their IWSG posts.
Or, the question can inspire members
if they aren't sure what to write about on IWSG Day.
Remember the question is optional.
This month's featured question is:
Is there a story or book you've written you want to/wish you could go back and change?

Happy February, Everyone!
I hope your year has started off well, and I hope that each of you
feels loved and appreciated in this Valentine's Day month.
I have written and published a number of short stories,
and I am happy with and proud of each of them.
There are at least three that I would like to turn into a longer story or novel.
We shall see. Time is an issue, as always. 😂
It's hard to crack the whip at myself when basking in tropical sunshine.

Take care!
My next post will be February 7th 🤞
Aloha and happy February! How wonderful to see you having a lovely time in Hawai.
ReplyDeleteAloha, Kalpana! And thanks!
DeleteOh, also – thanks for co-hosting the IWSG blog hop this month.
ReplyDeleteYou bet. Co-hosting is always fun!
Delete...when we had our nursery business and vacationed in Hawaii, Valentine's Day was a special day to celebrate my Sweeties birthday. Her birthday is May 13th, a busy day trying to earn a living.
ReplyDeleteHi, Tom! I'm guessing May 13th typically fell around Mother's Day, a busy day for sure. I admire entrepreneurs who create their own businesses. My childhood was chaotic, and so I cling to security. I hope that you and your Sweetie enjoy Valentine's Day this year!
DeleteHey Louise!!!
ReplyDeleteSome short stories stubbornly tempts us to write a novel!!! Starting to write a novel based of a short story you wrote long ago would be interesting. I've turned 1000 words to 25,000 words that way.
Looks like you're having fun with the sun! Love the sunny vibe!
Happy February to you too:)
Thanks, Rida! I am enjoying fun in the sun! Hugs to you.
DeleteLooks like a lovely location in which to inspire creativity! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm storing up memories for later creative bursts. All the best to you, Liza!
DeleteThanks for co-hosting and just enjoy the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the sunshine, Alex! Warm sunshine, not cold sunshine in Colorado. All the best to you!
DeleteI could use some warm weather too. The highs are 30 in Michigan. Good luck if you expand one of your short stories into a novel.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Natalie! The winter has been miserable so far in the continental US. I hope Michigan improves. Stay warm and safe.
DeleteEnjoy the sun and warmth! Aloha!
ReplyDeleteI'm soaking it up, Debra! All the best to you, my friend!
DeleteLooks like you're having a grand time!
ReplyDeleteRonel visiting for IWSG day Help Needed for Spreading the Word About Irascible Immortals
I am, Ronel! I hope that you have been enjoying visiting around today!
DeleteYou look so radiant in that yummy yellow! Makes me smile big time. Not sure about a total rewrite but there are certainly things I'd add or modify in another "edition."
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanie! Yellow is one of my favorite colors. It always me feel happy. I have enough on my plate to go forward with without going backwards ~ Lol! I hope that you ae having a great week, my friend!
DeleteOh boy do I understand the whipping part. Hope you're enjoying the sun and not working your butt off. Happy IWSG day, Louise. Thanks for co-hosting.
ReplyDeleteSome days I'm working my butt off, but more days I'm seriously not! Enjoy your fun time in the sun! Hugs to you!
DeleteI wouldn't be thinking about writing if I were there! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's hard, Diane! I hope that you are enjoying today!
DeleteSo jealous of that sunshine right now! Thanks for co-hosting today. @samanthabwriter from

Thanks, Samantha. I wish I could send everyone a blast of tropical sunshine and warmth. Take care!
DeleteThanks for co-hosting today!
ReplyDeleteI’m the type of person who, more often than not, will have an epiphany to rewrite a story/scene much, much later. Have a scene or two I’d change from a short story I’ve already submitted and published in an anthology. I just haven’t been moved to change it yet.
Yeah, I feel you. Getting writing done while basking in tropical sunshine? Yeah, not going to happen.
Definitely not happening much, although I've stuck to visiting around with IWSG members today quite impressively. All the best creatively to you!
DeleteIn fact--about cracking the whip--don't do it. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good with a whip ~ lol! All the best to you!
DeleteYou look so happy, I'm jealous. Soak in some sun for me. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnna from elements of emaginette
I am happy, Anna! And grateful that I'm happy. I will think of you when I'm soaking up the sun. Take care!
DeleteIt's right to be proud of what you publish. Congrats on those stories. https://cleemckenziebooks.substack.com
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lee! Some of the best moments in my life have been when I received acceptance letters. Take care!
DeleteRaging jealousy. Oh to be on a beach instead of here in MI. Thanks for hosting this month!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy. I always enjoy co-hosting. Michigan has been slammed with some miserable weather this winter. Stay warm and safe!
DeleteEnjoy the time away, that's the ticket.
ReplyDeleteThanks, H.R. Have a good rest of the week.
DeleteSand and sun . . . sigh!!
ReplyDeleteSigh for sure!
DeleteThank you for reminding me of Hawaii. My husband went to the University of Hawaii so we had four wonderful years of sun and sand. As an "alien" and Canadian, we had to leave when our student visas expired but returned for visits often. There's something different about Hawaii's energy. It's more than the weather, people, and sea. It starts with the sound of the greeting, "Aloha." I hope your time in Hawaii is filled with all your dreams fulfilled. Blessings
ReplyDeleteThanks, FS! It must have been awesome to spend four years in Hawaii! You're so right, there is something different here starting with "aloha." My Hawaiian hula instructor said something at our Sunday afternoon class that really resonated with me. He said that in the Hawaiian culture there is no shame. We were all trying to learn the words of a Hawaiian chant, and that comment really encouraged me to keep going. "Aloha" encompasses many things. Aloha to you!
DeleteEnjoy your time and the beach!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry! All the best to you!
DeleteOoo. Jealous. Thanks for co-hosting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! I hope that you enjoyed IWSG Day!
DeleteI'm jealous of your sunny, warm location. :D Enjoy it for the rest of us back here in snow-covered land.
ReplyDeleteWe had some very snowy and/or cold days before we escaped Colorado! I am so grateful and will be thinking of you and the other IWSG members when I soaking up the sun. Take care!
DeleteSuch an inspiring place to spend Valentines - or any time ;-) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting!
Thanks, Diedre. Every day is this magical aloha place! Take care!
DeleteIt is a beautiful beach photo. And I would love to read your short stories too
ReplyDeleteThanks, Roentare! You just made my day, my friend!
DeleteGlad you are enjoying the sunshine! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tyrean! All the best to you!
DeleteLooks so beautiful! That's a cool idea to turn your stories into a longer work. I hope you do!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement, Jenni!
DeletePrecious friend Louise❤️

Being from sunny part of the land,I can imagine how crucial is sun during winter specially.so happy that you are privileged with opportunity to visit bright sunny country while cold season 🥹🙏
I am you have your old short stories published on your blog as well so sometimes I can look for them and read them 🥰
Thinking of you both with pray full heart my dear friend!

Hugs and much love to you, Baili! I'm working on my memoir using the stories on my blog. It's a lot of work, but very rewarding. Your comments always lift my heart and spirit!
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteIt would be difficult for me to work in that beautiful weather! Could you send some of that beautiful weather, especially the heat.
Thank you for co-hosting.
Shalom shalom
If I could I would send you the heat, Pat. It is lovely! Wishing you warmth and sunshine.
DeleteBasking in the sunlight sounds amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is, Yvonne. I'm heading out shortly to walk on the beach. There is almost nothing like sunshine on tropical water. I hope all is well with you.
DeleteI wish I were on a beach instead of here in the ice and snow! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI wish you were too, Kim! May your ice and snow vanish quickly! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteNo sunlight here in Los Angeles today. But that's probably good. We obviously need the rain.
ReplyDeleteBut look at you! Living the life!
Lee
Hi, Lee! Yes, California obviously needs rain, but not in amounts that cause additional problems. Southern California has been through too much lately. I hope that you and your loved ones have come through okay. All the best to you!
DeleteI wrote a short story a few years ago that's begging to be turned into at least a novella. But as you say, lack of time is the barrier.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I'd ever write if I lived in a tropical paradise. I find it hard enough to write as it is.
