Aloha!

Okay, time to get back in my blogging routine again.
I am feeling so much better!
Hawaii is working its magic, and so is my medication.

I've been taking random shots of things that have caught my eye.
Here are some recent photos:

Sure lots of great shot indeed. Looks way nicer than crummy snow and ice here. Great that you are feeling better too!

    1. I've become a sloth, Alex! Too relaxed to chase my tail. I'm sorry miserable weather is pounding you. I hope you and your loved ones come through okay.

These are incredible photos, Fundy. I feel like I went to Hawaii this morning, on my couch with my feet up in my pajamas.

  4. Oh, you spent some time in Maui this trip! My old stomping grounds! I know every inch of that island -- how I miss it!

    1. Yes, we did, Debra. It was our first time in Maui, except for touch and go at the airport on a couple of flights. Do you remember the flight where a flight attendant died being sucked out of a plane over Hawaii? The first time we landed in Maui, shortly after the accident, we saw the plane parked off the runway. The top of the fuselage looked like a sardine can with the top rolled back. Absolutely horrifying and unforgettable. When we touched down again on the way home, the plane was covered with tarps.

Maui was glorious. We flew over on a day trip on Wednesday and saw as much as we could. We had so much fun, and we will go back to Maui. Take about your mind seeing familiar patterns. While landing we flew over an old sugar factory, but I saw an oil refinery. It wasn't until I went "Wait a minute! They wouldn't refine crude oil in Hawaii" that I realized it was a sugar plant. Duh! I could handle a few days at one of those resorts! We have an apartment in Honolulu, so we can prepare breakfasts and lunches and occasionally dinners during our trip. We've been eating a lot of peanut butter or cheese sandwiches ~ LOL! I hope that you and your Rare One get to visit Maui again and soon. Hugs to you, my friend.

    2. Yes, I have heard of that horrible incident. It's one of the ones featured on that TV show "Mayday" about airplane accidents. I can't bear to watch any of those episodes but My Rare One loves that show.

We always rent a condo apartment in Maui too, so we prepare many of our own meals. One of the first things we do after arriving is go to Safeway in Kihei to do a big grocery shop. One time I ran into my next door neighbour from Edmonton there -- small world, LOL! Kihei is a popular place where a lot of Canadians stay. More reasonably priced and less crowded than other "resort" type areas. Some might consider it "out of the way," but not Canadians. We're used to driving to get to places! Nothing's more than a half-hour or hour away on Maui anyway, except Hanna.

    3. Thanks for sharing, Debra! Kihei sounds like our kind of place. I'd have to win a big lotto prize to stay at Wailea. I couldn't watch "Mayday either."

    1. Thanks, Rain. I'm glad the medicine is working. The aggressive drugs were making me more miserable every day, but now I'm on lower drugs and feeling myself again. Yipee! You've been slammed with so much bad weather and more coming. Stay warm and safe with Alex and your fur babies. I hope Charlie is recovering and feeling better! Take care! Stay warm!

  7. So happy you are there, the sea, the sun, the sand and the warmth, all giving you some respite after the winter at home. Enjoy every day, would you ever think of living there permanently? Meanwhile down here, we are so soon after a short summer having cool mornings, and it's getting darker at 6 a.m. already.

    1. Hi, Jean! No, we would never think of living here permanently. It's very expensive and so far away ~ Maybe not as far as New Zealand! It's our escape to place. I hope that you and Hugh are doing well. Facebook has me locked out right now, and I probably can't get back in until I go home ~ argh! I'm looking forward to springtime in the Rockies, and you are anticipating winter. I know all the science, but it still feels strange. Take care! Stay safe and happy!
