Time is flying by. We arrived in Honolulu, turned around, and ten days had passed.
We've been busy visiting good friends and favorite places.
It's wonderful to have escaped the bone-chilling cold
that has hit Colorado and much of the Mainland.
Waikiki never gets old.
Here are some photos I've taken since we arrived:

We've been coming here for years, and because there is little turnover in the staff,
we know the Hideout's people. They always welcome us back.
Great people. Great food. Delicious Mai Tais. Great music.
I'm linking to Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date, Tom's Aloha Friday, and Nicole's Friday Face Off.
For Rain: Pyjamas ~ One of my favorite photos ever, and I'm not sure who took it ~ likely my youngest sister Bertie. My sister Donnie is reading to her three children and Bertie's two children (over 25 years ago).
For Tom: Aloha Spirit ~ A display of children's art greets arriving passengers at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.

For Nicole: Quite a Face ~ I was literally face to face with this hippo at the Honolulu Zoo today.
I haven't settled into a routine yet. I'll get there!
Wonderful photos- of a wonderful visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue! I'm really grateful to be here.
DeleteLovely pics Louise, looks like you both had a lovely time out. God bless.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what happened to y comment, Brenda! Thank you and God bless you!
DeleteGlad you and Terry are enjoying Honolulu's warmth again! Love the photo of you and the hippo statues, but especially your "closeup" of the real hippo! As you say, "quite a face!"
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra! I put my hand against his nose with only the glass separating us. What a thrill!
DeleteLooks much warmer than here!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful here, Alex! The southeast has really been slammed with winter weather. I've seen the news reports. Stay warm and safe.
Delete...Louise, thank for this Hawaii fix. I saw my cardiologist yesterday and he asked if we were going to Maui, I said no. We have many fond memories, but are pleased to stay home. This year wouldn't have been a good year to be away. Our 12 year old granddaughter had just had a 12 hour cancer surgery. Things went as expected, with a few surprises mixed in. Aloha my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I hope your granddaughter recovers well. What an ordeal for her and all who love her, Tom. Please take care.
DeleteOh, Louise, this looks just divine. I cannot even imagine wearing shorts and being without several layers right now. Your photos "take me there." So thanks for that. I do love the giraffes. the leis, the open water and those marvelous lanterns. Smart move, getting away!
ReplyDeleteIt is divine, Jeanie! I've seen the news reports of the winter cold and storms that have hit the Mainland. We literally escaped Colorado as the cold moved in. Stay warm and safe!
DeleteOhhhh what a fabulous post. It's been a long time since I have been to Hawaii and this post just gave me what I needed. All of the photos are fabulous but the one for FFO, priceless. Thank you for joining in.
ReplyDeleteHi, Nicole! I'm really glad that you enjoyed my post. I'm sorry I'm just responding now. Yesterday completely got away from me. All the best to you!
DeleteI love Banyan trees very much. The image reminds me of the childhood
ReplyDeleteYou would love all the beautiful banyan trees here, Roentare. I find trees fascinating, and canyons were definitely not part of my childhood. I hope all is well with you!
DeleteThis looks like a fabulous escape from the cold and snowy. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erica! I love escaping to warmer weather and a moister climate when it is cold. My whole body sucks up all that lovely moisture. Then I go home and dry out ~ lol! Enjoy your week!
DeleteYour trips to Hawaii are always wonderful ... all of your pictures are beautiful and fun, especially the Pj's pic with all of the children and sister Donnie. A great shot ... hats off to whoever took it :) I was in your neck of the woods in December. I went to my Granddaughter's wedding that took place on 12/21. I would have looked you up if there had been any time. With Christmas four days off, we had to head back to get ready for it. But, now that my Granddaughter is living in the Denver area (Lakeland, I think), I may get the chance to come out again ... and be sure, if I do, I will look you up :) Stay well, Louise ...
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From the Sol
Thanks, Andrea! I was thinking of you and your granddaughter and your family wedding event. I'm betting your ganddaughter is living in Lakewood. I would love to meet you in person! All the best to you!
DeleteWow, you're traveling again. Wonderful photos. It's been cold here this winter.
ReplyDeleteHi, Jeff! Yes, we're traveling again, just about my favorite thing to do. Terry hates the cold, so he is thrilled to be here. All the best to you.
DeleteFigured you were there for a while now. So much nicer than that white stuff we got falling now.
ReplyDeleteI found the crabs. Kiddos would never let me live that down as they've taken me searching for them for years.
Gotta love good old erosion. Great that there is little turnover and they remember you. Like a second home, or would that be 4th home? Vegas and the cove have to be up there too lol
Hey, Pat! Hope it's not snowing where you're at, by now anyway. I'm glad you found the crabs. I can't imagine how many crabs there are on the Queen's Walkway ~ thousands and thousands, I'm sure. The staff at the Hideout are awesome, and always treat us well. Definitely it's a "home." Happy Friday to you!
