On July 31st we are scheduled to begin moving back upstairs. Yay!!
We have degenerated into utter chaos in the basement. 😂
We have degenerated into utter chaos in the basement. 😂
We are no longer thriving. 😂
There may be a few little touchups to finish
after July 31st before our renovation is completed,
but this time the end really is in sight!
I've been on an emotional rollercoaster which you may have noticed in my recent posts.
But now I'm trying to put things in perspective.
I've thrown up my hands and cried "Uncle."
I've given up any thoughts of control (for now 😂).
On Sunday I visited the blog of a Canadian friend of mine,
Linda at Linda's Relaxing Lair.
She had posted for a long time, then left the blogosphere for several years.
Now Linda's's back, and she posts inspiring things that offer
a place of serenity and encouragement as well as humor to brighten our days.
On Sunday she posted several memes that I slid off onto my desktop
to remind me to keep things in perspective.
The first:
Not that meditation is ever likely going to work for this restless soul.
However, my trainer Julie has made some progress over the last twenty years
in getting me to breathe in and out more slowly when I'm wound up.
The second:
I did already throw up my arms and cry "Uncle."
That's a start.
I've been making myself sit on the deck with coffee or a margarita and linger with Terry.
Linger is the challenging part.
Viewing Cloud Land from our deck (180º of horizon!) is always fun,
and I enjoy thinking about the times I've rock and rolled though similar clouds
when taking off from or landing at Denver International Airport.

I've been looking at funnies and memes ~ Because I need to keep laughing.
These are random ones that made me laugh this week.
So funny for someone who has worked in a fossil lab and the Oil Patch!
This is for Debra and HRH (Thanks, Linda ~ the Third)
And I Think I Have Problems. 😂
I've been playing YouTube music a WHOLE LOT!
I'm not sure I could live without music.
When I need a musical lift, I often play this.

For Rain: Plaid ~ When our nephew Neil MacBeath married Jeannie Hong, he wore a MacBeath Tartan kilt. My father would have been so happy and proud to share this special day, July 26, 2012, at the Moana Surfrider on Waikiki. Their 13th Anniversary is tomorrow, Saturday.
Even amid chaos, you’re finding moments to breathe, laugh, and linger and that’s no small triumph
ReplyDeleteThanks, Roentare! I'm trying. I just came downstairs from having morning coffee with Terry on the deck. A young buck came running by, followed by a doe. It was mama, because trailing behind were the twins. As mama ran downhill in the rough grass lining the fairway, the twins took a hard left and zipped into the sprinklers showering the fairway. They were having a great time. Then mama spoiled it, by returning and herding them off. Adam and Tyler (two of the reno guys) arrived a few minutes later (7:30 am) and said they had seen them in a nearby yard. What a fun way to start the day. I hope you are having a good one, my friend!
DeleteWhen it comes to construction, you are never in control. Often the guys doing the work aren't either.
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing view from your deck! And cool the deer came right into your yard.
I have learned this lesson about construction, Alex. 😂 I do love our view! When this unit came on the market we were in Florida. I passed an agonizing week waiting to fly back to see it. I wanted Terry to make an offer before we returned to Colorado. He wouldn't. We drove straight from the airport to meet our realtor here in HEB. We walked in the front door, and I saw the amazing view from the living room windows. I said, "This is it! This is the one!" Terry said, "Don't you want to see the rest of the house." "Sure, I'll look, but this is the one." He reminded me quietly as Andy wrote up our offer shortly after that I'm not supposed to be excited in front of a realtor. Not that it mattered, because I had known Andy longer than Terry and this was the 4th purchase and/or sale he was handling for us. 😂. I've never regretted this decision one second , and now that we committed to the reno, we aren't going anywhere else! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteGlad those renos are almost done and hopefully, things can settle down after that so you can enjoy the rest of the summer! Love your photos of the mule deer twins and mama.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra! I love that I get to see these beautiful animals. I have enjoyed watching generations of the muleys over the years. Happy weekend!
DeleteTHANK YOU for speaking the TRUTH in that meme about Ancient Egypt and CATS. If only those GOOD OLD DAYS would return!
ReplyDeleteAnd THANK YOU for visiting, YRH! I feel PRIVILEGED that you visited and left a comment! Those ancient days may be gone, but you have functioned quite well as a GODESS in these modern times. I hail you! 🐈⬛ ❤️
Delete...living through construction is such a fun challenge! Take care and be well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tom! Terry said to me on the deck this morning that he feels like we've been camping. I feel like I've been sleeping on a forest floor for months. 😂. Our bed is going to feel so good! Have a lovely weekend with your Sweetie!
DeleteHello dear friend Louise 🧡
ReplyDeleteThank you 😊 🙏 💓 so much for mentioning my blog, I am so glad you enjoy it and that you are sharing the link and a few things from my blog.
There is so much in your post here, I smiled, I laughed, I love ❤️ the beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful post. I hope you and your fellow bloggers have a wonder filled weekend.
Thank you, my friend! I loved your kind comment and that you smiled and laughed. Have a great weekend! ❤️😄❤️
DeleteYou as well, dear friend! And I absolutely love the deer! It looks as if they were posing for your photo shoot in a couple of your photos, both the mother and fawns! Just precious! Love and hugs to you, enjoy your weekend! Thank you so much once again!
DeleteI love Linda's blog, and Debra's, too.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can fully move back at the end of this month.Renovation can be really stressful, so I don't blame you for being restless. It would drive me crazy.
I love your cloud pictures. Watching clouds is something very relaxing I think. I love to do that as well, and sometimes "seeing" something in them like an elephant on the run.
And the meme about cats? So very true.
I have actually been doing some yoga to relax. Mr. M. tells me to let it go.... I'm trying. For the memes I love the Jesus one. I think this is right. Ready for anything. The sunglasses and reading glass on his head cracks me up. Thanks for the laugh and thank you for sharing with FFO. Have a very relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the deer ~ great photos and post ~ Hubby is sweet too ~ hugs,
ReplyDeletean artist reflects ~ see corrected link on Face Off Friday
Yeah, construction renos usually never ever end on the initial date. Ours took over a friggin year.
ReplyDeleteYou and sit and linger are not words that I would think go together too often lol
Great views should get you to linger though as you watch your visitors.
Hopefully July 31st is the day and it doesn't magically become August 31st
Lovely selection of faces Louise and enjoyed the memes! - Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI learned a few things about construction long ago. It always costs more than you originally thought/expected. It always takes longer than you originally designated. It always makes you appreciate it in the end.
ReplyDeleteLove those baby does. Have a blessed weekend. dear Louise.
I think you must be successful relaxing on the deck because you got some amazing photos of the clouds. I bet you are getting antsy to have it done, but it all takes time, doesn't it? We need to do a few things more around our house and I'm not sure I'm patient enough to do them or have them done, but they need to be...love the deer. Those fawn twins are adorable. Have a super weekend and good luck with the renovation project.
ReplyDeleteOh Louise, you must be so relieved that the end is in sight and you can finally resettle into your home and with a routine more familiar. I hate chaos like that and it has gone on such a long while! And on another note -- wonderful photos, each and every one (especially the deer!)
ReplyDeleteConstruction work is never frustration free dear Louise 🥰
ReplyDeleteWhen I look back it never was for us as well, the mess started from the day first when hubby asked contractor to shape the veranda doors in dome like shape . He wasted weeks and then destroyed whatever was built.he confessed he isn’t able to make the way we hubby wanted, believe me the construction work was done in an year or ten months but nothing was when hubby wasn’t frustrated with it.
I am grateful you have taken control of your breath dear Louise, this toughest part ,once it’s done rest is easier 👍
Happy anniversary to your nephew 🥰may couple celebrate many more in future together 🙏♥️
