Short and Sweet

It's a short post today, because it's been a hectic week.
I haven't even been able to visit the posts of the people who visited me last week.
I'm going to try very hard to get around this week.
I hope everyone is doing well and has had a more relaxing week than I.

I'm sharing one photo of mine, the fascinating Sphere in Las Vegas.
It's a music and entertainment venue near the Venetian.
It features immersive video and audio in its 18,000-seat auditorium
with a 16K resolution wraparound interior LED screen,
and its exterior features another 580,000 sq ft (54,000 m2) LED screen.
The Sphere is 366 feet (112 m) high and 516 feet (157 m) wide
and cost $2.3 billion to build.
I haven't visited it yet, but it's very high on my must see list. Wikipedia

    1. Thanks, Sue! My week came to a screeching halt yesterday. I wrote this on Wednesday, then went for my flu and covid vaccinations. Unlike times in the past, the shots knocked the stuffing out of me, and I was useless yesterday, sleeping away the heart of the day. Fortunately the painful aching and flu symptoms are gone today. Guess what? The world didn't end when it took me out for a day! LOL. I hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend and your lovely spring flowers. ❤️

  2. ...Louise, that is a fabulous night image! Those mushrooms are fancier than I am! That truck is a refreshing sight! I can see who is the boss in your family! Take care and be well.

    1. Aloha, my friend! The Sphere is fascinating to watch, and I am determined to see a show there. Whenever we visited London, I liked to go to Portobello Road. It is fascinating, and there are endless opportunities to take pictures. Hawaii is getting closer, and I'm beginning to get excited about going back. I've been cleared by my eye surgeon to paddleboard, and I'm working on balance and core strength in the gym in preparation. Have a great weekend, my friend!

    1. Hi, Alex! The Sphere changes constantly. It's amazing. We watched it being built over five years, and it was worth the anticipation. Enjoy your weekend, my friend!

    1. Josie is a great dog, Debra. Pat and Barb walk her four times a day ~ well, when Pat's away she gets three walks. I hope that you got some Qigong in this week and that you are easing into an enjoyable weekend.

  6. Good evening, Louise. Are you back from your anniversary trip to Vegas yet, then? The Dome looks amazing, I would so like to visit it myself, but alas I wouldn't be allowed to leave mainland Great Britain, as the psychiatrist wouldn't allow me to go abroad - so it seems I have to like and lump England! Such is the inconvenience of being a mental health patient! Tut. But I do love holidaying in my homeland, just last week we went to Cumbria for five days to visit the Lake District, which I enjoyed immensely. Sorry you've had a hectic week, you seem on the 'go' so much in your posts that I can't help but feel for your sweet-self.

My pet dog, who I no-longer have, used to also be stubborn with going back home, but it was usually if I took her out for a short walk (with bad weather, or in a rush to do something or be somewhere), and I used to have to pull her all the way back. If dogs could understand English in depth, we could explain to them that there is a reason for rushing back home? Wishful thinking! Ha.

Take wonderful and gentle care of yourself, Louise. Until next time. Love love, Andrew.

    1. Hi, Andrew! Yes, Terry and I are home from Vegas, but we are already getting ready to go back again. A bunch of Terry's friends are coming, and we're all meeting for dinner at a favorite restaurant. We always seem to be flying around Insecure Writer's Support Day. That's because if we overlap the end and beginning of two months (like Sept. and Oct.), Terry can get comps for both months on one trip. It's a big game for Terry and his buddies (hunting for deals and getting comps), and I get the benefits, like a delicious steak dinner at Andiamo Steakhouse at the D. And they have the best creme brûlée for dessert. I can actually taste it. I'm glad that you had an enjoyable time in the Lake District. I have always wanted to see it. I fell in love with it through the poems of William Wordsworth. If dogs could understand and speak English, maybe they'd convince us why they should continue their walks ~ lol! Maybe you can get another dog. Dogs love us unconditionally and give us so much. But maybe you're like me, and your lifestyle wouldn't work for a dog. I was knocked back on my feet Thursday and Friday because of a reaction to my flu and Covid shots. I was literally in bed during the day, highly unusual for me. But I'm doing better now. Have a great week, and you take care of yourself too!

    1. Thanks, Natalie! I don't know how you stay on top of all that you do. Josie is a dear, and we all love her. She had a tough beginning in Texas, but she has a great home now that Barb and Pat adopted her. I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! ❤️

  8. Been super hectic here this week too. To the extent of a little dehydration lol oh well it's over. Onward we go.

You mean alllll the times you've been to Vegas and no sphere? Darn that gambling and strip.

Hahaha she sure wants to keep going. She knows how to relax too. Mine don't fight to go home, but they'd walk til they dropped.

    1. I'm glad to hear that you are rehydrated, my friend! One of the first things I do in the morning is drink a big glass of water, and I try to keep drinking water all day. Yellow pee is a hint you need water! In my defense, the Sphere hasn't been open a year yet. I'm scheming about how I can get there. I'm not sure that I can drag Terry there, but I'm not above going by myself. I believe your dogs would walk you until you dropped, Pat. I hope the start of the school year is going well for the boys. Have a great week!

    2. But but who has time to stop and pee 50 times lol I'd win. The dogs would drop first. So far, so good. Good luck getting to the sphere.

  10. Wow, that sphere is something else. I have a friend going to see the Eagles there at the end of October. And I love Josie. What a cutie, even if she is stubborn. I have a stubborn pup too. Have a great weeked.

    1. Lovely to see you, Erika! Lucky friend! I'd love to see the Eagles, even if Glenn Frey is gone. My whole family (extended) loves Josie. She is a dear. I wish my rolling stone lifestyle allowed me to have a dog. Enjoy your stubborn pup!

  12. Great Vegas photo. It's been 6 years since last there, but maybe soon since my son and his family recently moved there. His wife's family were originally settlers there.

    1. Hi, Jeff! You've been on my mind. A friend of mine wrote a poem about parables, nature, and being confined. I was telling him that my favorite parable was about the lost sheep, probably because sometimes I'm off rambling around somewhere lost. How interesting that your d-i-l's family settled in Vegas. Those settlers have to have been tough people! It is not an easy natural environment for people. I'm sure that you must know about Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. It has the amazing Keystone Thrust Fault. The RRCNCA is fabulous for hiking in the cooler months. We went to Ice Box Canyon in RRCNCA one December, and the stream draining the canyon was frozen. You could walk on the ice, and we came across two guys who were climbing up a frozen waterfall. There is a whole lot to do in the Vegas area for someone who loves the outdoors like you. I hope that you get to visit your son and his family soon. Take care.
