April's scavenger hunt had me scrambling!
Pink, for one item, was in short supply

and winter overstaying its welcome.

Fiori di Como
Chihuly Installation, Lobby
Bellagio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
Almost every time I go to Las Vegas
I have to go to the lobby of the Bellagio
to see this garden of glass installation
by one of my favorite artists, Dale Chihuly.
It is especially lovely at night with its soft lighting.
This glass installation weighs 40,000 pounds
and has hung above the heads of countless admirers
since its creation in 1998. Source

Royal Thai Police detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep is one of my all time favorite literary characters.
This excellent murder mystery is not for the faint of heart.

haha quite the show
ReplyDeleteYou gave a go
Wrapped in a pink bow
Hate lobster at my show
Blah to that
As the elephant would scare the cat
He'd hop after the burd
And a duck with it's arse in the air, my word
Cute bunny too
Do they really play golf with houses that close in view?
Right through the window a ball will go
With such a fore show
Hi Pat!
DeleteI'm still catching up, as you can see!
And yes, here at HEB, many of the houses sit right on the golf course! The angle I shot from did foreshorten the distance some. We came back from Hawaii last summer to a broken window! :( No golfer owned up to it ~ so we had to pay to replace it. That's the cost of living with space to breathe in. I spent a lot of my childhood in wild places or sparsely populated spots, so I need space!
You hate lobster! How sad. I rarely eat it outside Nova Scotia! I do love visiting the lobster cam!
I hope you are having a good day!
Great interpretations - love the elephant photo - and the duck with the curl, especially.
ReplyDeleteHi JoAnn! Thank you for stopping by and leaving kind words! I love the elephant photo too, even if the picture of me is not too flattering! I can always laugh at me. I clicked over to your blog "Scene Through My Eyes." Lovely photos! Sorry about the late reply ~ it's been a crazy week! Have a good one!
DeleteThese photos are great :) I love 'night light' and those curly tails - I can't believe I didn't think of that, I've seen lots of ducks this month!
ReplyDeleteoh, we must have been viewing each others photos at the same time as I just got your comment as I was writing the one above!
ReplyDeleteThe scavenger hunt is great fun, I don't think there's much to learn about how it works really, it's just a case of uploading the photos and adding your link. I noticed another Louise last month (at first I thought I'd already done my link and then forgotten, haha!) so I called myself Louise Roachling in the March link list - but this month I forgot - I'll try to remember next month.
Hi! From one Louise to another! I'll try to remember Louise/Fundy Blue! Thank you for your kind words! I got pulled away after commenting on your post, and I've been struggling to catch up during a crazy week! Sometimes life really demands attention! I do enjoy the scavenger hunt. I'm off to Hawaii shortly, and I'm going to try to do May's hunt entirely in Hawaii. Have a great week!
DeleteSome clever choices here! Did you know that plastic bags which get windblown and end up caught high on tree branches are called "witches britches"? Yes, clearly some witch riding by on her broom snagged her panties on the tree and left them behind!
ReplyDeleteHi Debra! Thank you for your kind comment! The witches have been leaving a lot of britches in my park. There is one pair caught at the top of the highest cottonwood in my park! And too many others! I'm going to have to go collecting one of these days1 Have a good one!
DeleteLove your tutu's and pylon pics.
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a kind comment about my photos. I enjoyed seeing your April photos too! I'm sorry I got behind in my comments this week ~ sick hubby among other things. I hope that you are having a good week!
DeleteThe elephants look like great fun, fab photo,s and good luck with Airforce one.
ReplyDeleteGillx
Hi Dosierosie Gill! Thank you for the kind words! Yes the elephants were fun, even though I was a little timid when it came to feeding them bananas! I can't wait to go back again! Sorry for the late reply ~ it's been one of "those" weeks. Take care!
DeleteLovely photos! "Every time I go to Las Vegas". Made me smile as to me is just a place you see in films, not a real place to go. Though I would love to see it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lizzy! I'm behind on comments ~ I'm sorry! I rarely stop to think that most people haven't seen Vegas like I have! I've been going for (I'm sad to say this!) forty years! When my husband was working in California for 3 1/2 years while I was working in Colorado, we spent as much as a month there throughout a year. It is quite the place, and I hope you get to see it some day! Everyone should see it at least once. Some people hate it, but not me; I love it! It will be fun to watch your garden grow. I so enjoyed your photos of your long and labor-filled weekend!
DeleteStunning photos. I really love the tutus and 'night light', and your bunny is so much cuter than mine! x
ReplyDeleteHi Julie! Thank you! Baby bunnies always look cuter than adult ones ~ especially when they are so tiny! Have a good one!
DeleteI adore the lights photo, as well as the others!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rose Fern! I hope that you are having a lovely, relaxing holiday!
DeleteThanks for taking part in this months scavenger hunt, I really enjoyed all your photos, pink, nightlight and curl are great. Greenthumb.
ReplyDeleteHi GT! Thanks for your kind words! I've been enjoying your holiday photos ~ such a beautiful spot. Terry and I are heading out in a little over a week for two weeks on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii! I am so ready for R&R! It's been a hectic month so far! But summer is coming ~ yeah! I guess it's more like winter for you! Have a good one!
DeleteLiked the vertical take off and the lobster! Great photos as always...I need a better camera!
ReplyDeleteHi Paul! I'm catching up on comments as you can see. Thank you for the comment on my photos. I guess one always want a better camera. I'm contemplating heading out this afternoon to get the camera I've been thinking about. I hate going to the mall, but my vacation is racing at me, and I've got to get in gear! I hope that you are enjoying your new home!
DeleteYour photos are wonderful! My favorites include the tutus, the duck's bottom, and the Chihuly art. I knew that had to be Chihuly before reading. His work at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL is breathtaking! So enjoyed the results of your scavenger hunt..
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Sorry I'm just replying now ~ May has gotten off to a hectic start! Isn't Chihuly amazing! Whenever I'm in Vegas I have to visit the lobby of the Bellagio, and most times I manage to visit his shop there. Only to dream ~ his art is well out of my range. Thank you for the kind words!
DeleteHaha, brilliant pictures! I love your animal ones especially! And yes, that one picture was quite perplexing lol
ReplyDeleteThanks B&R! You are always so kind and positive! I'll update the perplexing one soon! I was totally flummoxed last spring, but once I figured out what was happening, I was quite grateful! Take care!
DeleteLove it! I'm gonna try this next month - you make it so much fun!
ReplyDeleteAre you ready for more snow?
I'm behind as you can see, Terry! Thanks for the kind words! And I am looking forward to seeing your May photos! I'm betting there will be a horse connection somewhere! I actually like snow ~ but my Terry sure doesn't! I wish it would stop, if only to stop Terry from grousing about cold, ice, and snow! Have a good one!
DeleteHow on earth do you do it?? Your pictures have the ripeness of a Caravaggio painting at times! Edgy without going over the edge! (Or did I already mention that? I've certainly wondered about it) Maybe it is the light, but likely it is your talent. What ever it is, they are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteHi Francie! I actually scanned your lovely comment a week ago, and then got pulled away into a really, really hectic week! Your Caravaggio comparison warmed my heart many times when I wanted to tear my hair out! Yours are the kindest words anyone has every said about my photos! I swear, you made my year!!!
DeleteBeautiful assortment of photos. And I love how you've interpreted some of them, you clever girl, you! :) I'm considering joining this scavenger hunt. It looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind comment, Martha! Sorry I'm just responding now. It's been quite a week! I do hope you can do the May hunt. It is so fun seeing all the clever things people come up with! Take care!
Deleteit's a shame on how many bags litter the earth
ReplyDeleteHi Adam! I'm behind on my comments ~ so sorry! Debra/She Who Seeks told me that the plastic bags are called witches britches! There have been way too many witches flying in my area! Have a good one!
DeleteThis looks like so much fun. I love your bunnies!
ReplyDeleteHi Dreaming! The scavenger hunt is fun! I've only participated in March and April, and I'll be working on May. It's only 12 pictures! It's great fun to see what people come up with! Maybe you should try it. You are always coming up with such interesting things on your blog!
DeleteThat is quite the uber scavenger hunt
ReplyDeleteThank you, HGW! I have to say that your blog is intriguing! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteGreat photos, I love curl and night light.
ReplyDeleteHi Little Blue Mouse! I love your blog's name! It's so sweet and gentle! Way sweeter and gentler than mine ~ but then I'm always getting into trouble! I racking my brain for a clever door for May. I loved your fairy door! Sorry for my late response ~ crazy May. Have a great day!
DeleteSuper fun, Louise!
ReplyDeleteLove the glass at the Bellagio. I could just sit and gaze all day and night. I'm into colour!
Plastic is everywhere, OMG, what are people doing to this planet. Have you seen ot heard about the birds on Midway Island loaded with plastic bits in their innards, so sad. I put a video on FB about it. Oh man it's sad but ther should always be HOPE!!!
OK what's with the Lobsters standing on their heads on those plates...farting in the wind?!
SO you did go to Elephant Land, I know you wanted to ride them!! Love the enjoyment!
PINK ~~~ stunning!
Many thanks Louise as always, love your joy!
Ron
PS..picture of Digby Pines on my FB yesterday...thought you might like to see it!
Hi Ron! Thank you for all the kind words and thoughts! Loved the one about the lobsters! My sisters were going for presentation ~ but they might think twice when I tell them your comment! It is definitely sad about the birds on Midway Island ~ not mention those plastic islands swirling in the Pacific! Yes, I've been to Thailand and can't wait to go back again. My brother Roy and his wife Sue had been to the same elephant camp, but I never knew about it until Sue spotted one of my pictures on Facebook (quite a while back!). Facebook! Aarrrgggghhhhh! How can I be retired and so far behind!!!! Have a good one!
DeleteI like the pink tutus!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dawn, for stopping by and leaving kind words!
DeleteWow, fabulous selection but I'm in love with 6!! x
ReplyDeleteThank you RVC! I am endlessly fascinated with the bunny population in my neighborhood. Bunnies are so sweet! Have a good one!
DeleteAll those pics are interesting and definitely tell a story!
ReplyDeleteBut the lobster.... mmmmmmmm, yummy!!!!
One of my favourite dishes!
Keep well Fundie, have a great one!
Hi Noushka! Lobster is one of my favs too ~ although I usually have it only in Nova Scotia. I hope all is well with you! I'm doing fine ~ my hubby is the sick one this week! Take care!
DeleteWith you as always a great atmosphere! Yours! In my blog account of the Spectacle "light tone and a pair of" The antique steam engines! enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patrycja! It was great to see your comment! Have an awesome day!
DeleteLove what you did here! Great imagination you have. Love that glass ceiling. And that bird 'lifting off'!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jim! Thank you for your kind words ~ as always, Jim! Every time I see the glass ceiling at Bellagio, it takes my breath away. My photo only covers a small part of the installation! That little hopping sparrow was so cute ~ sometimes I just get lucky!!!! Take care!
DeleteGreat selection of photos, my favourite is Night light such wonderful colours.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a kind comment. It always excites me to see someone new! Have a happy day!
