I have Internet!
The Brigantine Inn in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia,
has provided me with a way to communicate
that Sophie Doodle is as real as real can be!
She bounded into my life yesterday with licks and love,
and I gave her all the scritches, hugs, belly rubs, and pats
that many of you requested!

the Guys Dubbed "Weeser"
But as wonderful as Sophie Doodle is,
nothing was better than to give Ron a great big hug
after way, way too many years.
And meeting Jim was every bit as special.
He's a great hugger too.
Ron, Jim, and I
We had so much fun laughing and talking
that I forgot to take pictures
of their gorgeous wooded garden,
their warm and welcoming home,
and the incredible seafood chowder and bumble berry crisp
that Jim made for the best lunch I can remember
in a very long time.
It was just so awesome to be with them!
But I collected my photographic wits
after we jumped in the car and headed for
MacDonald Hill and Lawrencetown Beach.
Let me share some of those with you!

So glad you had fun with the boys and Sophie . . . but how could you NOT? Love your fab photos! Especially that one of the three of you -- it's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, and I just love these photos! So glad you all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! Glad you're having a nice time! :)
ReplyDeleteHow awesome to meet Jim!! The blogging world is a small world indeed :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spot. And nothing is more fun than a dog on the beach with a ball.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you found the 'on ramp' and could post the pictures of this part of your visit. I am looking forward to seeing more! Have a blast….
ReplyDeleteOMG Louise....you are so fast getting these up....I spent all this time trying to figure out how to approach this so I went the "laughing" route. Makes sense kinda sorta doesn't it!?!
ReplyDeleteHope you like the beginning of my 2 or 3 part series!
This has been quite momentous occasion, you know, for me. One year 50 years ago brought all this love and laughter.
So many thanks!!!
Ron
Oh Louise! What a wonderful visit.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, especially dueling cameras and the unique photography style.
Hi Louise! Long time no see! lol
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, the pleasure was all ours to meet you and your sister Barb.
So you really are real! Your laughter is contagious and it is what we all need on a daily basis.
See you next week in the city.
S glad to see you back. Can Sophie be any more adorable? And love those green dishes. What fun you are having!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind comments everyone! Barb and I are in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We have spent the day visiting friends of Barb, a friend of mine (We were two of the four girls in Acadia's large geology department decades ago), and our niece Heather who is heading to the Halifax airport to move to Surabaya, Indonesia, after leaving Kuwait in June. We are sore/exhausted from laughing! Especially after seeing Sophie Doodle's latest post which featured us laughing! (http://fromsophiesview.blogspot.ca/2014/07/humans-love-to-laugh.html). We're also wiped out from a bottle of wine we are finishing (which our waitress from the restaurant carried up open to our room ~ more laughs). So I hope you'll forgive me for not answering individually this time. I think I've put on weight starting with Jim's incredible bumble berry crisp ~ We've been eating all these Nova Scotia desserts we've been craving while we were away ~ many with whipped cream. Thanks to Ron and Jim for the best time! Let's see if I can access the internet somewhere in my grandmother's house when we get to Smith's Cove tomorrow! Good night for now!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this! Oh, what fun. What an incredible thing to hang out with the three amigos; my pals on the east coast. And your photos are spectacular. Thanks for sharing all this with us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a marvellous day with Sophie and her dads.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great post. Those are lovely pictures.

No greater joy than a pup with an orange ball to fetch and good friends.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! Who doesn't need friends, right?
ReplyDeleteI love Nova Scotia. Your photos show what a good time you had.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful time! Love all the pictures, they show so much happiness :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment on my blog a while ago. I'm so sorry I didn't get to answer any earlier. My last finals went well, and I'm already in the paper writing and final-studying mode for the current semester. Things are crazy busy right now. Can't wait for this to be over :) I hope you're doing well! Have a wonderful rest of the week!
I love all of your photos, Louise.....such a beautiful place. And I could eat Sophie Doodle up with a spoon. Too precious!!! XOXO
