Picture of the Day: Ameristar

Terry and I are up in Black Hawk
at the Ameristar,
our "Mountain Lodge!"

When I was teaching
this was one place
I knew I could come
and get completely away:  recharge.

I love to travel,
and on those wonderful days,
I'm going to publish
a Picture~of~the~Day.

Last night we were guests
at Ameristar's second
Chinese New Year's Banquet,
followed by an amazing Lion Dance.

I have looked forward to this event
since it ended last year,
and I was not disappointed!
Kudos to the Ameristar's staff
for a spectacular evening!

This was one talented lion!

More to come at a future date.
Have a happy day!

    1. Hi OE! The dance was fun, and it was followed by a second one on the casino floor. It's hard work to be the dancers in the lion! But they make it seem alive.

    1. Hi Debra! I did not know about the luck piece! Next time I'll make sure I do. Lion dances are amazing, and I am in awe of the people inside that lion!

  3. The lion looks particularly cute in that capture! We've been having lots of these dances everyday here (CNY celebrations last about 15 days, and people hire these dancers to perform at their homes or companies). When they're really good, they're loads of fun to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AdqFrfHdpI

    1. Hi B&R! Thank you so much for sending me that You Tube link! The Lion Dance was delightful. The dancers are amazing athletes! So you are not in North America, and you are in someplace where there are a lot of Lion Dances. Hong Kong? Macau? You've got me guessing! Wherever you are I hope you have had a fun weekend.
