It's Valentine's Day!
For the first time in twenty-six years
I am not spending the day
with dozens of excited elementary kids
anticipating opening their valentine containers
and getting way too sugared up!
I am not surreptitiously sneaking a chocolate
from a valentine box
or ignoring when my kidlets sneak
a candy treat or two from inside their desks.
I don't have a huge pile of valentines
to sort through and laugh over.
But I do have the best valentine in the world,
and that is my ever-loving E-P!

Happy Valentine's Day All!
Hearts of Mars (NASA)
Happy Valentines Day! I see your hubby is already all puckered up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your question on my blog about the bee imagery. I'm going to do a post about it next week to fill newcomers in about it, since it's been probably a couple of years since I did some posts about why bees are so significant to me. Stay tuned!
Hi Debra! Thanks for your comment, and I shall look forward to your bees post next week! Terry and I had so much fun at our nephew's wedding last summer when that red lips photo was taken! We're getting some snow now, so maybe Terry will be tuckered instead of puckered from the drive home!
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day! I love the photos! Looks like you're having a blast together years later. When it's 'the one', it only get better over time!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Martha! When you find the The One it just gets better and better! We were having a blast at my nephew Neil's wedding to Jeannie in Waikiki in the Now photo. They had a photo booth at the reception where you could go in and have 4 snaps with costumes taken in 10 seconds. We had so much fun that we're going back to Oahu in May! I hope that you are enjoying your day!
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day. The "Hearts of Mars" was so cool!!
ReplyDeleteThanks OE! I'm glad you enjoyed the Mars valentines. I thought they were cool too. Have a Happy Valentine's Day!
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you two! What a great wedding photo Louise! I am seeing that your family smiles a lot! That could be contagious! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThose 'lips' just keep popping up! lol
Hi Jim!
DeleteThanks for the great comment.
My family does smile a lot ~ and belly laugh! But we can shoot off like fireworks too! And when we play any kind of game, especially card games, we all want to win and the competition and table talk can be brutal!
Honest to God, my brother records the score of every card game he plays with me (and the sibs) in his journal that he has been keeping for at least 40 years! And when he wins, he gloats in his journal. I know because he's written his scores down in front of me and quoted his comments to me as he wrote. Brothers!
Those lips were pretty popular at my nephew and niece's wedding!
Have a great day!
Did I ever tell you that I taught third grade? It was my all-time favorite age to work with! I can totally identify with this post and your feelings. Happy Valentine's day to you and your wonderful guy!
ReplyDeleteHi Dreaming.
DeleteThird grade forever! It is an awesome age. I managed to teach it most of my career, although for about ten years I had a multiaged second/third combo.
And Jim (Ocean Breezes ~ comment just above yours and my reply) also taught third grade for part of his career!
I hope you and Mr. Dreaming had an awesome Valentine's Day! I've been fascinated by all your RV posts.
Keep traveling safe!
Ooh, you are so cute!! And what an adorable couple you make. Happy Valentine's :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words B&R!
DeleteI hope that you and yours had a happy Valentine's Day!
My brother has always called Terry and me The Clones or Thing 1 and Thing 2. And the whole family has followed suit.
Once when Terry and I were walking late at night through the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas some young woman squealed: "Oh what a cute little married couple!" We felt our age then!
Have a good one!
Speaking of hearts!!! Did you see the heart Col.Chris Hadfield sent of the islands in some waters? I put it on FB.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's to you and Terry ... so click and see!
What a joyous occasion Sept 1, 1984 ...I'd say that picture DOES say it all. Where was the wedding and E-P what does it mean? You may have told us but duh!!
Have a great w/e Louise!
Ron
Hi Ron! Thank you for sharing that volcanic valentine! I had never seen it, and it is awesome. Our wedding was in St. Mathews Episcopal Church in Parker, Colorado. Sometime I'll post the story of that church which started as a converted auto repair shop (that's what we were married in!). On the morning of our wedding the town of Parker chose to tear up the road to the church, and our guests were climbing over mounds of dirt to get to the church. We delayed the start so people could get there; but, as you can see, a fun time was had by all.
DeleteE-P means Ever-Patient! I should spell that out at least once in a post.
You have a great weekend, too, Ron! We're headed up the hill to Black Hawk in a few hours.
ENJOY!!!
DeleteHello Louise,
ReplyDeleteI hope you both had a special and happy Valentines evening! Loving the Mars hearts, never seen them before... proves there is love out there, beyond the sky!
Ivan
Hi Ivan! We had a delightful evening having dinner at our favorite little bar and grill. We're headed back tonight because we go there almost every Friday we're in town. I had never seen the Mars hearts before either, and they were too cool. I'm a NASA junkie! I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day too, although it would be pretty hard to top Paris!
DeleteA belated Happy Valentine's Day to you and Terry. What a fun couple, then and now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terry! I hope you are enjoying the beginning of a great weekend. I am looking forward to a warm up and sunny skies.
